Katie Robinson is Equinox’s first and only Oregon-based corporate counsel. She specializes in contracts, healthcare, administrative law, technology, public policy, FDA regulations, corporate governance, and nonprofits.

Katie’s journey to becoming an attorney was a fortuitous event as she originally planned to pursue a medical degree. While at an academic medical center managing an orthopedic surgeon’s clinical research department, she had the opportunity to work closely with contract attorneys. There, Katie discovered that a Law career better suited her. She attended the University of Washington School of Law, graduating in the top 15% of her class, and is a current American Bar Association – Young Attorney Division member.

Before getting her law degree, Katie already had five years of business experience in various of industries and roles. She has managed a multimillion-dollar clinical research program for the surgical director of orthopedics at Oregon Health & Science University. After graduating from law school, Katie worked as part of an in-house team of contract attorneys, where she developed her knowledge of contracts.

Katie comes to the Equinox team with multiple advantages of understanding the healthcare system from an administrative and clinical perspective. She also comes from a family of business owners and can approach our client’s needs through an entrepreneur’s lens. Katie sought a professional degree to advise and help people. Equinox’s business model of helping small business owners have the same access to legal counsel as the big corporations resonated with her. She subscribes to the idea of business intersecting with the law and can utilize her knowledge to help business owners achieve their goals through creative solutions.

An avid adventurer, Katie enjoys the outdoors with her husband and two large dogs— a Bernese Mountain dog and an Alaskan malamute. Besides being a certified scuba diver, Katie likes to stay active by going on hikes, playing golf, skiing, traveling, and exploring unfamiliar places. When she is not out exploring; Katie is in her garden tending to her collection of houseplants while enjoying a cup of herbal tea.

Katie is licensed to practice law in the states of Washington and Oregon.
