Safety Practices for Essential Workers

Event Details

Keeping your workers protected with safety practices is a necessity. Currently, the Department of Labor and Industries (LNI) and Oregon OSHA are starting to perform spot checks to see if active employers are preparing and implementing policies and procedures to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19 while protecting their employees from exposure. Some businesses may be unaware that they need to have these policies in place. Our guest speaker, Craig Hall from BBSI, has a history of assisting clients with safety practices, creating both Policies & Procedures and Emergency Response Plans. He’ll discuss those essential elements with us, LNI inspections, the WAC & OSHA codes used for reference, and any other questions you may have on the subject.

Program elements topics of discussion:

  • Educate workers, customers, visitors about COVID-19 and prevention
  • Maintain 6 feet of spacing
  • Frequent sanitation of all work areas and common touch surfaces
  • Handwashing stations/sanitizer availability
  • Sick employee and post employee illness procedures
  • Alternative strategies
  • Evaluate Special Circumstances
  • Enforcement Policy
