Lauren Cordray is an experienced attorney with a passion for helping businesses reach their goals with consistent, holistic legal counsel. She understands that legal shouldn’t be a roadblock, but rather a tool to help businesses “get the job done” while also minimizing risk.
As an essential member of our General Counsel team, Lauren leverages her knowledge of contract negotiation, intellectual property (IP) law, software licensing, leases, compliance, and data privacy to help clients build more a more secure and prosperous future for their businesses.
Lauren’s desire to work in the legal field grew from an internship at a non-profit family law firm. There, she spent her time streamlining processes, identifying conflicts of interest, attending court hearings, and drafting legal documents. After her internship, Lauren worked as a paralegal for a large law firm which further solidified her decision to make law her career. She then attended South Texas College of Law Houston where she earned her JD.
With prior experience as an in-house attorney, Lauren is familiar with the legal issues that business owners face every day, the risks to consider, and how to communicate those risks to clients. Lauren can easily translate “legalese” by breaking it down into digestible insights for stakeholders and clients to make actionable changes.
Serving small businesses is what drew Lauren to Equinox, and she works enthusiastically to make sure business leaders have a legal team in their corner. Lauren believes that all clients deserve to have access to consistent legal counsel that is relevant, understandable, and cost-effective. With Equinox’s General Counsel Services, Lauren assists with doing just that.
Lauren is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals to learn more about the growing privacy concerns and legal landscape as the law develops. Staying up to date with the most relevant legal updates is essential for Lauren, and she uses those updates to keep businesses compliant and help them succeed.
Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys baking, sewing & cross-stitching crafts, playing video games, and singing. Vocal performance is a huge passion of Lauren’s, and she spent her first year of her undergraduate as a vocal performance major for opera. She loves to sing and has performed in several Gilbert and Sullivan musicals.
